Myrlene Pollard Young, 85, of Garner, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Myrlene was born November 23, 1934 to the late Hessard Herman and Hattie Mae Prince Pollard. She retired from Wachovia after 42 years of service. She was a longtime member of Wooten’s Chapel Church. Among the things she enjoyed were walking with her friend Ruby, going to Walmart with her dearest friend Annette, and working in the yard, where she could show off her green thumb. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, but more than anything, she loved spending time with her family. She leaves behind her sons, Frankie, Jr., Ricky and wife, Julia, and Marty and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Lindsay, Mallory, Holly, and Jason; brothers, Harold Pollard and wife, Judy, Jerry Pollard, and Wade King and wife, Julia. In addition to her parents, Myrlene was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Franklin Young, Sr. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:00 am at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, in Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM Friday, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. The family would like to thank the staff of Transitions Hospice Home in Raleigh for their wonderful kindness and loving care of their mother.
