Nancy J. Currin

March 31, 1931 — October 12, 2022

ANGIER – Nancy Mae Jackson Currin, 91, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 12th. A native and lifelong Angier resident, she was the daughter of the late Rupert Jackson and Eliza “Jeanette” Jackson.


She attended Hardbarger Business College, then East Carolina University after graduating high school. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was known far and wide as a selfless caregiver to many family members throughout her entire life. Her passions included bridge club with friends, beach trips with family, and cheering on her TarHeels. She will forever be known for her delicious chocolate cake and her impeccable style. She had a zest for life that was unmatched.


Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. Burial will follow the service at Angier Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Reverend Thomas Allen will be officiating the funeral service.


She is survived by her daughters, Nancy C. Bertrand and husband, Andre of Angier, Jeanette C. Strickland and husband, Ray of Lillington; son, Millard “Bobby” Roberts Currin, Jr. and wife, Rita of Angier; grandchildren, Allison Rice and husband, Matthew of Fayetteville, Amber Benton and husband, Noah of Angier, Jamie Fields and husband, Sam of Garner, Kasey Glover and husband, Nick of Lillington, and Jackson Currin of Angier; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Connor, and Caroline Rice of Fayetteville, Elijah and Evelyn Benton of Angier, Luke, Julianna and Jacob Fields of Garner, Nicholas and Charlotte Garner of Nashville; Colson and Simon Glover of Lillington; sister-in-law, Helen Currin of Wilmington; her special doctor, Dr. C. Alan Eure of Raleigh; close friend, Jolene Altman of Kentucky; and many very special nieces and nephews.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband of 48 years, Millard “Bob” Roberts Currin, Sr.; sisters, Iris Harrison, Ada Upchurch, Jean Harper; brothers, Kenneth Jackson and Thomas Jackson; and life-long best friend, Doris McLeod.


The family sincerely appreciates the wonderful care given to Nancy by Rhonda and Zaida with Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh.
