Nancy Jean Holm passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on September 30, 2017 at the Transitions Hospice House due to complications from major heart surgery on June 1st. She was born in Midlothian and grew up in La Grange – both Chicago, Illinois suburbs. She graduated with Honors in Chemistry and Math from Purdue University and taught middle-school math in the Frederick, Maryland and West Lafayette, Indiana school systems. Nancy focused her life on raising two wonderful children, her grandchildren, and church-related and other volunteer activities: Bazaar and Rummage Sale fund raisers for Montgomery United Methodist Church (UMC) in Belle Mead, New Jersey; Youth Group Co-Leader at North Raleigh UMC; Doll and Blanket Project for the San Ramon Valley Newcomers Club in Danville, California; Parsonage Committee Chair for Sunrise UMC; Holly Springs Newcomers Club Secretary and With Love from Jesus volunteer in Raleigh. Nancy is predeceased in death by her mother, Evelyn Cameron, and her father, John Cameron. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Bob; son David, his wife and their daughter; daughter Kristen, her husband and their son; and sister Janet and her husband, Earl. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4th at Sunrise UMC at 5420 Sunset Lake Road, Holly Springs, preceded by a 1:00 pm reception. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunrise UMC building fund (www.mysunrise.org) or With Love from Jesus (www.withlovefromjesus.org).
