Nancy Strickland Wall

Nancy Strickland Wall, 91, passed away peacefully on May 07, 2024. A native of Wake County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Drewey Strickland and Metta Mae Poole Strickland.

In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Needham Austin Wall; brothers, Jimmy T. Strickland and wife, Anne, and C.D. Strickland, Jr. and wife, Becky; sisters, Elouise S. Byrd and husband, Willis Paul Byrd, and Annie Ruth Strickland; and brother-in-law, Linwood A. Perry, all of whom Nancy loved very dearly.

Nancy was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. In 1985 she retired from the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction after 30 years of service. She was also a longtime member of First Alliance Church of Raleigh. She will be remembered fondly by her family and friends as a woman of great compassion, strength, and conviction.

Nancy is survived by her two loving sons, Needham (Dusty) Austin Wall, Jr. and wife, Jan of Apex, and Tony A. Wall and wife, Sharon of Garner; grandchildren, Carmen Blum and husband, Jordan, Derek Wall and wife, Ashley, Corey Gilchrist and husband, James, Paige Sigmon and husband, Kevin; great grandchildren, Emmett, Minna, Nolan, and Vera Blum, Lochlan Wall, Reed and Cole Sigmon, and Jahna Gilchrist; and sisters, Lydia S. Perry, and Emma Ollie S. Young (Earl) of Raleigh.

A graveside service will be held Monday, May 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street Raleigh, NC 27603.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nancy’s memory to, First Alliance Church, 4400 Buffaloe Rd., Raleigh, NC 27616.
