Raleigh- Nancy Thompson Anderson, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 13. She died peacefully with her family around her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Nancy was a devoted member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church, serving on the wedding committee, Stephen Ministry and loved her circle eight and choir friends. Nancy met her deepest love, Bill, at her hometown church in Gaithersburg, MD where he was the choir director. They were married 52 years. Her favorite pastime was to attend the performances of her children and grandchildren. Nancy had a passion for flowers and gardening and loved to cook and entertain. Nothing made her happier than to spend time with family at home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 2 PM at Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery. Surviving are daughters, Jennifer Hunsaker and her husband David of Atlanta, GA and Melissa Cassario of Raleigh; sons, Chris Anderson and his wife Molly of Raleigh and Stephen Anderson and his wife Bridget of Raleigh; grandchildren, William Hunsaker, Abigail Cassario, Olivia Hunsaker, Jacob Cassario, Samuel Hunsaker, Ava Anderson, and Elise Anderson; and 6 beloved grand dogs. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made either to the music program at Edenton Street United Methodist Church, 228 West Edenton Street, Raleigh, NC 27603 or to Greyhound Friends of North Carolina, 2908-A Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310.
