Naomi Magdaline Lewis

GARNER – Naomi Magdaline Lewis, 99, of Garner, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. A native of Trinidad, Naomi was born May 8, 1924, to the late Thelma Mitchell and Ivan Vincent Emanuel. In November of 1943, she married Dillon Milroy Lewis, in Trinidad, where they raised their children together. They lived many years in New York, before moving to Garner 19 years ago. Naomi made sure that she was able get her children a good Catholic education. She was a loving, caring, and jovial mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Naomi was a natural caregiver and helped to raise all the children in her family. She learned to cook, make wines, and to enjoy her time icing and decorating cakes, many of which won her awards. Naomi was known in her family for always having a wise quote to share for all occasions. She was a very prayerful woman and loved to teach and support her friends and family. She also had a great love for dogs, raising many throughout her lifetime.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, at 11AM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington St. Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11AM at the funeral home.

Naomi is survived by her children, Jennifer Amoah, Rollington “Rolly” Lewis and wife, Jean, Dillon Lewis and wife, Deanne, Janice Lewis, and Jacqueline Lewis; grandchildren, Jewel, John, and Justin Amoah, Natasha Sanchez, Mary-Ann Lewis, Arlanna Lewis Alie, and Alisa Lewis; great grandchildren, Cordero Scott, Kamari Greenidge, Genesis and Nicholas Sanchez, Madelyn and Benicio Ramirez, and Isaac, Lexis, Anden, Alaura, and Analla Amoah; and a great great grandson, Messiah Roberts.

In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Milroy Lewis; sister, Veronica Emanuel; and brother, Prince Andrew Emanuel.
