Neal Lance Franks

FOUR OAKS -Neal Lance Franks, 81, died Tuesday. A native of Wake Co., he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Franks and Bertie Penny Franks. He delivered milk for Pine State Creamery for 19 years. He retired from the City of Raleigh as a mechanic. During his retirement, he enjoyed fishing and gardening. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday at Friendly Chapel Church, Benson. Entombment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Survivors include his wife, Nina C. Franks; daughters, Wanda F. Thompson and her husband, Mark, Deborah F. Jernigan and husband, Wayne; son, Tim G. Franks and his wife, Charlene; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Step-daughters: Catrina C. Dowdy and husband, Derby, Debbie S. Gutierrez and husband, Tony, Patsy A. Little and husband, Kenneth; 10 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille F. Godwin and Nancy F. Coats; brothers, Jimmy Franks and Clarence Franks. He was predeceased by stepdaughter, Teresa C. Ortiz, sisters, Annie Pearl F. Sears, Lora F. Sears and Lucy F. Morgan; brothers, Hubert, Lee and Carl Franks.
