Needham Austin Wall

Needham Austin Wall, born April 10, 1927, in Johnston County, NC, son of Colon S. and Kitty Fowler Wall, passed away April 29, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wallace Wall and sister-in-law, Lynn Wall. Needham was a member of First Alliance Church of Raleigh, served in the US Army during World War II, and retired from the NC Department of Correction, Division of Prison Enterprise. He was involved with music most of his life, playing with the “Melody Mountain Boys”, professionally with the “Homer Briarhopper Band” and “Brothers ‘N’ Bluegrass”. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Strickland Wall; sons, Needham A. (Dusty) Wall, Jr. and wife Jan, Tony A. Wall and wife Sharon all of Garner; Grandchildren: Carmen L. Blum and husband, Jordan of Newtown, PA; Derek A. Wall and Wife Ashley of Apex, NC; Corey B. Wall of Orlando, FL; and Paige A. Sigmon and husband Kevin of Raleigh, NC. Greatgrandchildren: Emmett, Minna and Nolan Blum; and Reed Sigmon. Brother Billy Y. Wall of Clayton, and Sister-in-law Janice Wall of Garner. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM prior to the service.
