Nellie Barnes Green

Nellie Barnes Green, 92, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Nellie was a retired State Employee from the print shop at Dorothea Dix Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Zell and Viola Creech Barnes. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Garner Advent Christian Church, 1120 Vandora Springs Rd. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Green and 10 siblings. Survivors include: her daughters, Jenelle G. Moore and husband Charles, Evelyn G. Bowden and husband Johnny; son, Albert L. Len Green and wife Lou; sister, Ola Jean Wilkins and husband Billy; brother, Henry G. Barnes ; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 12:00 noon Tuesday prior to the service at the church. Special thanks to Lawndale Manor and Community Hospice for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lawndale Manor Assisted Living Ctr. to the Activity Dept. in her memory, in honor of the entire staff and for current and future residents.
