Nellie S. Clayton

Raleigh- Nellie Stephenson Clayton, 99, passed away on Friday in her home surrounded by family on January 25, 2019. Mrs. Clayton was born May 13, 1919 in Johnston County, NC to the late, J. Lynn Stephenson and Rosa Stewart Stephenson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elma H. Clayton, son, Stuart L. Clayton; siblings, Zoe and Jarvis Stephenson, Clydia Williams and Gladys Clayton. Nellie is survived by two sons, Charles Kenneth Clayton, Harvey Walter Clayton, and wife, Kathleen; grandchildren, Amanda, Robert, Kenneth, and Taylor Clayton. The family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Middle Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Raleigh at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Burial will follow at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank all her doctors, medical staff, and Transitions Hospice Care for their exceptional care.
