Nellie Vivian Macon

Nellie K. Macon, 104, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. A native of Wake County, Nellie was born September 11, 1920, to the late Henry Warren and Mary Ella Smith Kelly. She spent her career as a professional re-toucher for Siddell Studios. Nellie was an artist and she loved her family more than anything. Family time was crucial and they would all flock to the table for family meals, Nellie’s cooking was second to none.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 2PM, at Ebenezer Methodist Church, 6020 Rock Quarry Road Raleigh, NC 27610. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home 1200 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529.

Nellie is survived by her daughters, Pat Ayscue, Nancy Taylor (John), Anita Berry (Buzzy), and Denise Jeffries (Rickie); son, Warren Wood (Gina); daughter in law, Beth Macon; grandchildren, Christie Kelly (Jimmy), Joshua Taylor (Cameron), Kelly O’Neal (Bryan), Lisa Nobling (Johnnie), Amanda Jeffries, and David Berry; and great grandchildren, Eli and Allison.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rolland “Sleepy” Macon; children, Mary “Mickey” Macon and Michael Macon; great grandson, Henry Sánchez; and siblings, Ida Nobling, Addie Jordan, Bill Kelly, Melvin Kelly, Lillie Morris, Minnie Williams, and Nannie Stephenson.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at BellaRose for their loving care and compassion over the duration of Nellie’s stay.
