It is with great sadness that the family of Nicole Susan Procaccini Pletcher announced that she passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on 28 January 2025, at the age of 37. Nicole was born in Santiago de Chile on Nov 9, 1987. Shortly after her birth she was adopted by Susan and Nicholas Procaccini. Nicole experienced living in four foreign countries (e.g. Chile, Brazil, Peru and Pakistan). She was educated in international schools and had world-wide travel experiences before returning to the United States in 1996 and settling in Princeton NJ. At the age of 9 years old she was naturalized as a US citizen in Pittsburgh, Pa. It was an incredibly grand affair with the entire family present celebrating her life. She graduated from the Stuart Country Day School of Sacred Heart in Princeton, NJ in 2004 where she excelled at Lacrosse and was a member of the student council. Nicole went on to attend St Joseph University in Philadelphia.
Nicole moved to Raleigh, NC with her husband Ben Pletcher 12 years ago to further Ben's career in multimedia development. While in Raleigh, Nicole pursued a career in the hospitality industry. She attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in March of 2016. She also studied and became a certified Sommelier.
Following a divorce in 2022, Nicole married her current husband Caleb Vasquez 5 months ago. Nicole described herself as "loving whole heartly and being very kind". She was always there for every family emergency with a smile, encouragement and a deck of cards to play Gin Rummy with her grandfather. Her dog "Loki" was one of her great loves.
Nicole was pre-deceased by her mother Susan Procaccini in 2013. She is survived by her husband, Caleb Vasquez, as well as her father, Nicholas Procaccini, and two brothers, David Procaccini of RI, and Adam Procaccini of NC and their children. She is also survived by aunts and uncles -Nancy and John Richert (Chevy Chase MD), Chris and Daniel Arnold (Mt Pleasant, SC) as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family is planning a celebration of life service in her memory on Wednesday February 12, 2025, at William and Company in Raleigh, NC from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Nicole will be laid to rest in Savannah, GA in her family burial plot next to her mother, Susan, soon. Contributions in her honor may be directed to a charitable organization of your preference.
