Nina Pappas Donaldson

FUQUAY-VARINA - Nina Pappas Donaldson, 95, passed away peacefully at Springbrook Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Clayton, North Carolina on Friday, April 23, 2021. Nina was born in Middletown, Ohio on June 28, 1925 to James and Sophia Pappas and was the wife of the late George Robert Donaldson. She graduated from Central High School in Syracuse, New York in 1943. She continued her education at the Powelson Business Institute in Syracuse, New York graduating in 1945. In her early career, Nina worked as a secretary for Aircooled Motors Company and the Chrysler Corporation. She was employed as a secretary and senior telephone operator with Carolina Power and Light Company in Raleigh, North Carolina from 1975 until she retired in 1990. She loved to cook and bake entering many contests over the years. Her other hobbies included sewing and cross-stitch. She cherished her Greek heritage and attended many local Greek festivals. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will truly be missed. Nina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Donaldson; sister, Bessie Pappas, and brother, Frank Pappas. She is survived by her son, Robert Donaldson and wife, Sherry of Raleigh; grandchildren, Michael Donaldson of Raleigh and Christopher Donaldson of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Marilyn McEachron of Palm Bay, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1621 Broad Street (NC-55) Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. A public viewing will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina.
