Garner - Our beloved mother, Nona Jeanette Dean, passed peacefully into the Savior’s loving arms on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Transitions Lifecare of Wake County. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Arthur D. Dean; parents, Rolen and Ruth Crumpler of Piney Green; stepdaughter, Sherry D. Cash of Raleigh and sister, Barbara C. Rogers of Elizabethtown. She is survived by three children: Gloria F. Dean (Don Martin) of Holly Springs; Ann D. Dawson (Jim) of Garner and Danny Dean (Evie) of Wendell. She is survived by her sisters Jean C. Catlett of Fayetteville and Katrina C. Thornton (Gerald) of Raleigh and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by (7) granddaughters: Joy Tanner Loyd(Chris) of Garner; Lesley Dean Matthews (Lee) of Bynum; Jennifer Cash Schuler (Jamie) of West Virginia; Allison Cash Hyde (David) of Clayton Susan Cash Medici (Dave) of Virginia; Elizabeth D. Hughes (Corey) of SC and Amanda D. Pritchard (Nathaniel) of Knightdale. Ten great grandchildren: McKenzie Hyde of Clayton; Savannah Matthews of Bynum; Tucker Schuler of West Virginia; Ashlynn Matthews of Bynum; Lauren Schuler of West Virginia; Jacob Medici of Virginia; Jackson Hughes of SC; Abigail Medici of Virginia; Colton Hughes of SC and Carson Medici of Virginia. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Mother graduated from Salemburg High School (1945) and attended Mary Elizabeth nursing school in Raleigh before becoming a wife; mother and homemaker who has lived in Garner since 1955. She was a great cook; seamstress; caregiver; and volunteer 4-H leader in Wake County during her lifetime. The family wishes to thank the following healthcare professionals that have assisted in her care and rehabilitation in the last several years of declining health: Jennifer Bradshaw; Sarah Creel; Alice Kinton; Judy Reed; Melissa Odham; Greg Hogan and Becky Brake. We also appreciate the excellent care from the staff at Rex Hospital; Rex Rehab; Wake Med Rehab and Transitions Lifecare. We greatly appreciate the professional and compassionate care provided by Dr. James Parsons; Dr. Catherine Feller; Dr. Dennis Garver and Dr. Ronald Schwarz. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations may be given to Transitions Lifecare of Wake County or the NC 4-H Foundation.
