Norma Light Moore

Norma Light Moore peacefully went home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Margaret Lantz; a young brother who died prior to her birth; her first husband, Arvin Light; her identical twin sister, Nancy Foster; her elder sister, Dorothy Harmon; her husband Robert (Bob) Moore; and her son-in-law, Mitchell Edwards.

Norma and Nancy were co-valedictorians of their high school graduating class and then graduated with honors from National Business College in Roanoke VA. After 31 years of service as an executive secretary in Raleigh NC, Norma retired from the Insurance Division of General Motors.

A long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Raleigh, she served through the years as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, Senior Adult leader, and member of various committees. She was active for many years in the NC Senior Games and had many medals to prove her prowess, particularly in her beloved game of croquet. She also enjoyed writing poems to be shared with others.

Norma is survived by her children: Vicki Ferree (Bob), Charlotte Edwards, Douglas Light (Shaela), and Ginny Hix (Billy). She also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
