Oliver Columbus Lanham

Oliver Columbus Lanham, 80, died Wednesday at Rex Hospital. Heaven gained the sweetest of Angels. He was funny and had the best spirit and loving personality. Oliver never knew a stranger and was a wonderful Christian man. He loved his wife Phyllis dearly for 60 years. His smile and huge bear hugs will be missed and life will never be the same without him. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Garner United Methodist Church. Entombment will be private. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Duff Lanham; daughter, Renee Lanham Kelly and husband Todd of Wilmington; son, Wesley Dean Lanham and wife Donna Jo of Fuquay Varina; grandchildren, Jeremy Kelly, Shannon Murphy, Melissa McElveen and Emma Swan; six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Garner United Methodist Church, 201 Methodist Drive, Garner, NC 27529.
