Opal Mathews Moore Norris

GARNER - Opal Matthews Moore Norris, 86, died Monday. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late M. F. Matthews and Alma Kinsey Matthews. She attended Meadow High School and Hardbargers Business College. She performed office duties for several years and then became a nurses aid and was employed with Eldercare until her retirement. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Hayes Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Survivors include son, Donald E. Moore and wife, Mary Lou; grandsons, Donnie Moore and wife, Jackie and Stephen Moore and wife, Kelli; step-sons, James, Jack and Tommy Norris; step-daughters, Ann Lipscomb and Frances Montedonico; four granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Hanna, Sarah and Haylee Moore. She is also survived by her dear friends and caretakers, Lisa and Mark Gibbs and their daughters, Fawn and Faith. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hayes Chapel Christian Church, 315 East Garner Road, Garner, NC 27529.
