Patricia Francisco Tilley

Patricia Francisco Tilley, 64, died Sunday. Born in Cary, NC, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Margaret Francisco and the daughter of Lenor F. Cooper and Curtis Johnson. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. After marrying the love of her life, they made their home Clayton where they had their business and were longtime members of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The mountains were calling them and they left to make their home in Glendale Springs where they owned and operated The Gathering Place on the Blue Ridge. Her home was once shown in Country Living magazine and was in numerous community shows. Later, they made their home in Maggie Valley. Pat was an active member of the community and loved teaching Sunday School and telling the young ones about the love of God. She also had the privilege of running for Town Alderman. She had been chairman of the Planning Board at Maggie Valley and served on the Planning Board of Haywood County. Her illness brought them back home and they settled in Fuquay-Varina. There she enjoyed her many friends while being involved with her Red Hat group, book club, playing Bunco and enjoying many meals at Cooleys Restaurant. She is survived by her husband, W. Boone Tilley; mother, Lenor F. Cooper of Clayton and father, Curtis Johnson of Ray City, GA; twin sister, Pamela F. Sutterfield and husband, George; nephew, Chris Sutterfield and wife, Pamela of Angier and their children, Jordan and Emily; brothers, Timothy Cooper and wife, Joan and Ricky Cooper and wife Wanda, all of Clayton; sister, Deborah Jones and husband, Eddie of Vinton, VA ; uncles, Corbitt Johnson and Jeanette of Auburndale, FL and Russell Johnson and wife, Peggy of Norman Park, GA; aunt, Nadine Josey and husband, Charles of Hollow Rock, TN; step- children, Chris Tilley and wife, Melanie of Raleigh and their children, Abigail and Hannah, Jeannie Saul and her children, Danielle and Ambria and Logan, Kenny Tilley and wife, Lisa of Bahama and their children, Noah and Heather, Paul Tilley of Durham; step- grandchildren, Christon and Shannon ; seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by step-daughter, Tonya Renuart. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
