Patricia Sharon Copeland

Patricia “Pat” McBryde Copeland, 69, of Cary, passed away on December, 21, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Pat was born in Allendale, South Carolina on September 12, 1952 to the late Warren Russell McBryde and Pauline Mitchell McBryde. Having grown up in Savannah, she loved spending time in coastal towns and on the water. After many years of proudly working for Bank of America, Pat spent her retirement years in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was thoughtful, funny, and kind-hearted, and she was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She loved music and movies, spending time with her sweet grandchildren, and searching for that perfect pair of earrings. She will be remembered for her generosity and gracious spirit, and she will be greatly missed. Pat is survived by her husband, Bob Copeland; daughter, Kristen Thorne Bryson and husband, Edwin; son, Bryan Michael Thorne and wife, Lori; grandchildren, Stanton Bryson, Banks Bryson, Eliza Thorne, and Calum Thorne; and her brothers, Warren “Russell” McBryde, Jr. and significant other, Carol, and Donald McBryde and significant other, Kay. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends at 11:00 on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
