Pattie Steen Fleming, 77, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. A graduate of Boyden High School in Salisbury and Meredith College in Raleigh, she was a valuable ally to members of the General Assembly and those in leadership for the state of North Carolina. She was predeceased by her husband, Holt Fleming of Raleigh, her parents, Clarence and Kathleen Steen of Salisbury, NC, and her brother, Kemp Steen of Blowing Rock, NC. Surviving are her children, Connie Fleming of Richmond, VA, Sarah Fleming and Patrick Fleming (Amme) of Raleigh. She is also survived by three grand-children, Mason, Harriet, and Alice Fleming. She is also survived by her best friend, Mrs. Lloyd Stanley, and her loyal companion Twig. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 12, at Pine Hill Cemetery, 233 East Summit Avenue, Burlington, NC. Following the service, the family will receive friends between 4:30 and 6:30 pm at 4912 Hermitage Drive, Raleigh. Pattie’s family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Graham, the nurses, and staff of Waverly Oncology and Transitions LifeCare.
