Paul Reginald Jordan, Jr. died peacefully on Dec. 12, 2015 in Savannah, GA. Born July 13, 1926 in Wilmington, NC to Paul and Mary Rivenbark Jordan, he graduated from New Hanover HS in 1944, then moved to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University, and graduated with a BS in Dairy Manufacturing in 1947. After a brief time working in Wilmington, he returned to Raleigh to work for the NC Dept. of Agriculture as a Food Microbiologist for over 37 years. He soon met his wife Betty Wardlaw Jordan, a graduate school friend of his sister Ann J. McNeill. They were married in 1959, and had 2 children, Anna and Paul. For over 55 years he was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Raleigh, serving as a Deacon and Elder, active with the Koinonia Sunday School Class, attending the Men of the Church meetings and the annual church retreat in Montreat, NC, and cooking breakfast every Wednesday morning for the Early Birds. When he wasnt attending his childrens dance or sporting events, he was volunteering as a statistician for NCSU football and basketball, and he was the scoreboard operator for NC State baseball for over 40 years. Paul was predeceased by his wife Betty, and he is survived by his sister Ann McNeill and her husband Frank of Aberdeen, his daughter Anna Mullings and her husband Mike of Savannah, GA, his son Paul Jordan and wife Dianne of Centreville, MD, and his three grandchildren, Drew, Gracie, and Becca Jordan from Maryland. A funeral service will held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church, with the family greeting friends following the service. A private burial was held prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 112 S. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.
