Pearl Baker Allen

Pearl Baker Allen, 87, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021. A native of Johnston County, Pearl was born October 29, 1933 to the late George Gilbert and Lucy Lee Rose Baker. Pearl was well known in the Garner area, serving for many years as the administrative assistant at New Bethel Baptist Church. She loved all people, especially children, and served faithfully at her church for many years teaching children’s Sunday School and doing work for missions. She also enjoyed helping with Meals on Wheels. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 12830 US 70 Business Highway West, Clayton, NC 27520. Pearl will lie in repose at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529 on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, from 2-5pm. Friends may stop by to pay their respects and sign the register. Pearl is survived by her children, Catherine Beaver and husband, Brian and Jeffrey Allen and wife, Sherry; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Allen; grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, and Megan Allen, and Meredith Dunn; brother, Herman Baker and wife, Angelika; sister, Kathy Medlin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Allen; son, Michael Allen; and six brothers and sisters.
