'In lifes journey you control two options: give up or fight like hell' she never gave up. After a very brave battle with cancer, Peggy Ann Belcher of Galax, VA previously of Angier, NC was called home to God early for Christmas on Wednesday November 28, 2012 surrounded by the love of family andfriends. Peggy was born in Raleigh, NC in 1950 to the late Carl and Doris Zacny. She grew up in Cary, NC and was married to Noel Stanley Belcher for nearly 36 years. They resided in Cary, NC later moving to Angier, NC and finally settling in Galax, VA. She is survived by her husband Noel, son Christopher (Chip), his wife Shawn; grandchildren Davis and Paxton; two sisters, Madeline (Dolly) Keith Pleasant, Mary Elizabeth Beloshapka and brother Michael Dorch Zacny. Peggy graduated from Cary High School and received her degree in nursing at Wake Technical College. After leaving that profession, Peggy worked alongside her husband and helped grow a successful construction company. Additionally, she had a dream of starting a winery, so in November of 2011 her dream came full circle with the opening of Mt. Vale Vineyards in Galax, VA. Peggy was a wonderfully warm, compassionate, outgoing woman with an exuberant sense of humor, an infectious personality and smile coupled with a willing ear. Everyone that crossed her path was drawn to her energy and invariably into a poignant conversation as well. By those who were fortunate enough to know her, she isundeniably missed. She will be remembered by an inextinguishable spirit that strengthened everyone she met. Friends and family will be received at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier, NC from 6 - 8pm on Monday December 3, 2012. 'Laughter through tears was her favorite emotion'
