Peggy Wiseman Duncan

Peggy Wiseman Duncan, 86, of 535 Easy Wind Lane Garner, NC, died peacefully Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at home surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Kathleen Wiseman and granddaughter of the late Edna Victoria Norman. A native of Carter County, Tennessee, Mrs. Duncan finished high school at Crossnore School in Newland, NC, in 1954. She was Salutatorian of her senior class.

In October of 1956, she was married to George E. (Jim) Duncan, a native of Mitchell County. She started her working career in 1957, as a bookkeeper in a retail hardware store. Over the years she held various jobs in retail, county government, and in banks, but her priority was being a support to her husband, a homemaker and community servant.

Mrs. Duncan had a special love for her immediate and extended family and friends especially her grandkids. She is survived by her son, William Mark Duncan and wife, Tracey of Raleigh; grandchildren, Rachel Anne and William O'Neal Duncan.

The family would like to thank the many neighbors, friends, loved ones, and church family for all the love, care and prayers offered on her behalf during her illness.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Barbara Thomas of Nurse Next Door for the special care, love and friendship she shared with Peggy over the last several weeks as well the loving service provided by the staff of Transitions Hospice.

The memorial service will be held in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral home, in Garner on Monday, April 24th, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Travis Williams will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the hospitality room of Bryan-Lee Funeral home. Burial will be at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bakersville, NC.
