Peggy Yeargan Smith

Garner - Peggy Yeargan Smith, 79, died Tuesday at her home. A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Mamie Stone Yeargan. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dwight T. Smith; daughter, Martha S. Worley and husband, Carl of Garner; grandchildren, John Woodall, Amy Woodall, Joshua Woodall, Paul Worley and wife, Beverly and Sarah Worley; ten great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Benjamin, Daniel, Dustin, David, Ashton, Chesney, Austin, Kaylee and Parker; sisters, Patricia Hamilton and Ellen Pemberton, both of Raleigh; brothers, Rex Yeargan of Angier and Sammy Yeargan of Chester, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Yokeley and brothers, Ray and Roger Yeargan. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Memorial contributions may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church, 2110 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
