Percy Lee Johnson

RALEIGH – Percy Lee Johnson, 85, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024. A native of Harnett County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Berlin Johnson, and Viola Surcy Johnson.

In addition to his parents, Percy is preceded in death by his daughters, Donna J. Yopp, and Angela J. Parrish; and sister-in-law, Debbie Schneider.

Percy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. On May 4th, 2002, he married the love of his life and best friend, Diann Johnson, spending 22 memorable years together. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends who will forever hold the memory of him close to their hearts.

Percy is survived by his loving wife, Diann Johnson of Raleigh; sons-in-law, Graham Yopp of Sneads Ferry, Bo Buffaloe and partner, Elisa Gandy of Raleigh, and Jackson Parrish of Holly Springs; step-sons, Cliff Sauls and wife, Emily Sauls of Raleigh, and Tim Sauls of Springfield, Massachusetts; daughter, Hope J. Buffaloe of Raleigh; brother, Vernon Johnson of Raleigh; brother-in-law, Mickey Schneider of Sneads Ferry; sister, Sherry J. Roberts and husband Danny Roberts of New Hill; sisters-in-law, Rachel Johnson of Raleigh, Dorothy Kirksey of Raleigh, and Stacey Dodson of Raleigh; grandchildren, Chelsea Yopp of Garner, Amelia Parrish and partner Travis Stapleton of Raleigh, Lacy Buffaloe and partner Spencer DeMartz of Raleigh, Michael Workman of Raleigh, and Kris Sauls of Raleigh; and great grandchild, Maverick Hix of Raleigh.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529. A committal service will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603. The family will receive friends and family for a period of visitation Friday, July 5, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529.
