Percy Lee Mciver

Percy L. McIver, 75 passed away after a brief illness with cancer. Percy was Retired Police Chief for the Garner Police Department for 19 years. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Friday at Garner First Baptist Church. Burial to follow at Elizabeth United Methodist Church Cemetery Smithfield, NC, with Military Honors. Percy was preceded in death by  his father John McIver. Surviving are his wife of 54 years Patty Burke McIver; daughter, LaRunda McIver; son, Michael McIver and wife Stacey;  mother, Georgia Belle McIver; sister, Cynthia Stephens and husband Jim and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christopher and Natalie McIver. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Garner.
