Percy M. Perry

Garner - Percy M. Perry, 80, died Tuesday. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Pete and Clara Hagwood Perry. Percy was a mechanic by trade who owned several Percys Auto Repair shops located around the Raleigh / Garner area. He was an avid racing fan and in his early years, built and ran race cars at the Wake County Speedway. A visitation will be held from 11-12:00 Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 pm at Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Terry and Stan Penny. Survivors include his daughters, Marilyn P. Love and husband, Tommie; Wanda P. Lewis and husband, J.B., all of Clayton and Terry P. Penny and husband, Stan of Garner; sisters Ruth Hagwood of Raleigh and Mildred Stephens and husband, Frank of Raleigh.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. In addition to his parents, Percy was preceded in death by his sister, Lottie Robinson. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Lawndale Manor of Garner for their 3 ½ years of care and to the staff at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Memorial contributions in Percys memory may be made to SECU Hospice House- Johnston, 426 Hospital Road, Smithfield, NC 27577.
