GARNER - James Phillip Thompson, 73, a 42 year employee of Martin-Marietta Materials, died Thursday. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Aversboro Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Surviving wife of 38 years, Jeanette Thompson; son, Charlie Davis and his wife, Kimberly; brother,Sam E. Thompson and wife, Ann; grandchildren, Brenden Davis and Maggie Davis, all of Garner; nephew, Michael Thompson and wife, Shelly and great nephew, Ryan Thompson all of Raleigh. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Jeffrey Crane and his staff at the Rex Cancer Center, as well as Tammy, Lashonda, Paula and Carmen with Hospice of Wake Co. for the loving care given to Phil.
