GARNER - Phillip Sherman Hart, 75, went to be with his heavenly father on Friday at the William H. Dunlap Center for Caring. Funeral service will be 1:00 Monday at First Baptist Church, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00PM Sunday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Phillip was son to the late William Thornton Hart and Dorothy Currin Hart. In addition to retiring as a salesman from the Machine and Welding Co., he also served for fourteen years as a Marine Reservist. Phillip was also an avid NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his step-mother, Vandelia Stephens Hart. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Faulk Hart, son, Jeff Hart of Carrboro, daughter, Lynette H. Atwood and husband, Eddie of Wendell, brothers, Ray Hart; Danny Stephens; Dewey Stephens and wife, Vicki, all of Angier, sister, Barbara Henries and husband, Max of Angier, grandchildren, Summer Hart and Brandon Atwood, brother-in-law, Mickey and wife Angela P. Faulk and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Home of Wake County, 200 Hospice Cir. Raleigh, NC 27607 Phillips kindness, integrity and friendship to everyone who knew him and especially his family, will always be remembered even to the strangers that he met along his lifes journey.
