Ralph served for 50+ years as the Executive Director and later President & CEO of the Boys
Club and later the Boys & Girls Clubs in Wake County. He spent his fifty-year career leading,
guiding, and mentoring young people, staff and board members at the Boys and Girls Clubs of
Wake County. He grew the membership from a few hundred boys at one club to thousands of
boys and girls at eight clubs. He was a role model of consistency coupled with an infectious can-
do attitude. He had zero tolerance for anything less than his or your best. Thus, he inspired
everyone to exceed the expected in favor of the possible. He forever positively changed the lives
of all who were fortunate enough to come under his influence. Specifically, he steadfastly
executed the mission of enabling young people to reach their full potential as productive,
responsible, and caring citizens. His efforts have changed our communities for the better.
