Randy passed away on his birthday, as he chose to finish partying in heaven on his special day.
As anyone that knew him would know, he had to go out with a bang and he refused to go quietly, fighting for every minute he had as he was a tank of a man with the strength of a bull. He revolutionized what it means to be a Dad. He truly was the most extraordinary Daddy in the world, never failing to make his girls laugh and shake their heads at the wild stories of his travels, hippie days, quotes of wisdom, and endless jokes he had no shortage of. His happiest moments were always being a Dad & Granddaddy to his girls and teaching valuable lessons & skills that he acquired during his remarkable lifetime. He enjoyed a tense game of scrabble, watching a nail-biter game, a dinner of El Lobo, or telling a loud living room of all of the girls to keep it down so he could sleep while secretly loving the chaos that comes with being a "girl Dad" to his own girls and their friends that he called his daughters too. He was a true genius with a thirst for knowledge, earning several patents in fiberoptics and various other engineering & technological achievements that his family are all so very proud of. The man held a wealth of knowledge and could tell you about anything in specific detail and fact- he would give Google a run for their money on any day or any topic and is unriveled in all things wisdom. His life's passion in carpentry can be seen in many beautiful places all over the country but especially in his home where you are surrounded by his creative brilliance and can marvel at the endless projects he always had in motion. He was a handsome man with the best hair, mustache, and majestic blue eyes anyone has ever seen. Randy treasured his life long friends from traveling, high school & UNC and he was beyond stoked to see them in his final days here on earth. He was a die hard UNC and Yankees fan and his flags will continue to fly.
The world and our hearts will never be the same without Randy in it and not a second will pass that he isn't deeply missed and mourned by all who had the pleasure to meet him as he truly touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He was taken from this earth far too soon and his loss is a heart shattering one that has left a void that can't be filled. Randy truly was the man, the myth, and the legend. He was the rarest kind of treasure of a Dad and is loved more than any words could ever capture. His voice, words, laugh, eye cutting expressions, and sawdust scent will resonate in our hearts and minds forever and he will never be forgotten.
