Raquel Leon

ANGIER – Raquel Leon, 93, passed away on Monday at Johnston Health Hospital in Clayton. Born in Mexico, she was the daughter of the late Gonzalo Leon and Aurelia Cerriteno. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 1st at 2:00 pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Fuquay-Varina. Burial will follow the service at Sandy Grove Cemetery, Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends at the home. Raquel is survived by her children, Nieves Mendoza, Ma Guadalupe Mendoza, Juana Mendoza, Sor Lucia Mendoza, Ma Carmen Mendoza, Luis Mendoza, Dolores Mendoza, Sor Clara Mendoza, Samuel Mendoza, Ma Angel Mendoza, Jose Antonio Mendoza, and Francisco Mendoza, Licha Mendoza; one sister; two brothers; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Mendoza; son, Gonzalo Mendoza; and three brothers.
