Ray Christopher Williams, Jr.

Angier - Ray Christopher Williams, Jr. 48, died Friday. Chris was predeceased by his brother, Stuart Martin Williams. Chris was loved by his family, his daughter and nephews adored him. He loved to run. He was always quite the athlete, trying out for the US Kayaking team, Chris paddled most of the whitewater rivers of North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and West Virginia with his mother and sister. He served as an Acolyte in his Church, St. Stephens Episcopal. He received a NC Engineering Scholarship to attend NCSU. After the death of his brother in 1984, Chris lost his way; his family never gave up; he was always cherished. Graveside service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Mabry Family Cemetery on Langdon Road, Angier. Surviving are his daughter, Katie Rose Williams; mother, Nancy Rose Silvers; father, Ray Christopher Williams, Sr.; sister, Stephanie Rose Williams Phillips and husband Tony; nephews, Jacob and Samuel Phillips.
