Raymond Anthony “Tony” Scott

January 10, 1951 — February 17, 2021

Garner– Raymond Anthony “Tony” Scott, 70, of Garner passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17th at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. Anthony was born in Siler City, NC to Jean and Raymond Scott. A memorial service celebrating Anthonys life will be held Saturday, February 27th at 2 PM in the chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Garner and the “Called Out” Sunday School Class. His passion above all was serving the Lord. Anthony proudly served our country in the US Army for five years. Three of those years were served in Germany. He was retired from a long career in the automotive industry, most recently with Weaver Brothers Volvo. Anthonys love of golf oftentimes found him on the golf course. He also had a great love for Motown and beach music, and spending time at the beach. Of course, he enjoyed every minute he spent with his four grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Merilyn Card Scott; a son, Robert Warren; daughter, Melissa Noelle; brother, Donnie Scott; sister, Tonya Scott. He is survived by his sons, Joseph Patrick (Carol) of Cape Carteret, Ezekiel Kevin of Garner, Jonathan Elliott (Jessica) of Holly Ridge; sisters, Wilma Pike (Jerry), Cynthia Nall, of Siler City, Christie Cook (David) of McGee’s Crossroads; brothers, Gregg Scott (Brenda) of Clayton, Brad Scott (Susanne) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Rachel, Alexander and Mason Scott and Drew Rose, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
