Raymond B. Holland, Jr.

Raymond Boger Holland, Jr. 85, passed away at home with his family by his side.  A native of Gaskin, Co., he was the son of the late Effie Mae Smith. Raymond worked in the Insurance Business for many years. He also proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday Aug. 14, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Garner. Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, with Military Honors. He was preceded in death by his step-father and mother; Elmer and Effie Mae Talley and a sister, Dorothy Borenstein. Survivors include his wife of 64 years Barbara Richards Holland; daughter, Susan Norris and husband Anthony; sons, Ray L. Holland and wife Kay, Kenneth Holland, Jeffrey Holland and Paul Holland and wife Velma; sister, Jeanette Talley and five grandchildren; Josh Holland, Anna-Marie Holland, Ashley Ansbro, Rion Holland, Jeffrey Holland and Collin Norris; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Transitions LifeCare 250 Hospice Cr.
