Richard E. Parry

Richard E. Parry died of surgical complications on May 21, 2024 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was 70 years old.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 23, 1954, he was the son of Dr. Robert W. Parry and Marilyn Jean Parry. Both preceded him in death.

Richard graduated from Boardman High School in 1972 before becoming certified as a surveyor. He was a hard-worker and loved being outdoors. Inheriting the family passion for history, he was an avid Civil War reenactor and lover of antique firearms. He moved to Angier, North Carolina in 1997 where he took great joy in raising his daughter, Remi, and rescuing cats.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Remi Noelle Parry and her husband, James Black of Raleigh, North Carolina, treasured brothers, Robert W. Parry, Jr. of Manchester, New Jersey and David Parry of Angier, North Carolina, and a niece, Jean Parry of Brick, New Jersey.

A Sharing of Memories will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Napper Tandy's Public House and Restaurant, 27 S. Broad St E in Anger. In lieu of flowers, donations to Carolina Cat Rescue are appreciated.
