Richard Lawrence Holt, Sr.

Richard Lawrence Holt, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully at Duke Raleigh Hospital on Thursday, November 17, 2016. He was the son of the late Marcus Evander and Hilda Collins Holt.  Larry was born in Holly Springs, NC on May 9, 1932.  He was a graduate of Hugh Morson High School, served in the US Marine Corps, and was employed as a service representative for Anacomp from 1956 until 1995. Surviving are his wife, Betty Flythe Holt; son, Richard Holt, Jr. and wife, Mary, of Raleigh; daughters, Dee Ann Cooper and husband, Jimmy, of Raleigh and Donna Underwood of Raleigh; brothers, Frank Holt and wife, Dot, Lonnie Holt and wife, Ramona,  all of Raleigh; sister, Eloise Galloway of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Anna Underwood, Rob Underwood and wife, Kelsey, Hayden Holt, and Jordan Holt;  great-grandchild, Gavin Underwood; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Davis of Goldsboro, NC and Grace Buchanan of Raleigh, NC. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 20, at 2 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 2 pm.
