Richard Rogers, 80, passed away at his home on Friday, January 16, 2015. Richard was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 27, 1934 to Lawrence “Lou” Rogers and Judith Lopez Rogers. He moved to North Carolina in 1948 eventually founding American Metal & Parts, Inc. in 1952 which is still in operation today and run by his two sons. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Ann Rogers, his sister Marilyn Rogers and his step-mother Margaret Rogers. He is survived by his three children Timothy Rogers and wife Donna, Belinda Keever and husband Cebe, and David Rogers and wife Wendy, all of Raleigh; brothers Art Rogers and wife Laura of Point Reyes, California and Martin Rogers of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren Jennifer Pierotti and husband Paul, Rachael Rogers and husband Zack, Melissa Kragel and husband Philip, Renee Rogers, Maria Keever, and Hunter and Holden Rogers, all of Raleigh; and two great grandchildren Jenna and Julianne Pierotti of Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park with entombment to follow.
