Richard William Packer, Jr.

Garner- Richard “Rick” William Packer, Jr., 77, of Garner, NC, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on June 5, 2023.

Born in Rochester, PA on November 11, 1945 to the late Richard William Packer, Sr. and Viola Mae Curry Packer, he spent most of his life in Beaver County. He was a longtime employee of the Beaver County Planning Commission. He graduated from Westminster College and also served in the US Army in Vietnam. He and his wife, Ann, were formerly members of St. Monica Church in Chippewa Township.

Rick is survived by his wife, Ann Krebs Packer; daughter, Laura Carlisle and husband, Joshua; son, Michael Richard Packer and wife, Erin; grandchildren, Evan and Ava Carlisle and Ethan and Ryan Packer; great granddaughter, Silvia Packer; father-in-law, Thomas Krebs; brother in law, William Sell; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his sister, Shyrl Sell.

A memorial mass will be held on June 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at St. Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Parish, 1008 Vandora Springs Road, Garner, NC 27529. Inurnment will be held at The Beaver Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
