Robert Bert Wall, age 82 died at Rex Hospital on Christmas Eve, December 24th at 5:30 PM, after struggling with Parkinson’s disease for two years. A cardiac arrest caused his death and he entered into his eternal life. He was born on May 3, 1932 to Rommie Lee Wall and Clyde Estelle Gower. R.B. was married to his beloved Ellen Jacqueline Wall for 62 amazing years. From 1953 to 1955 he served as Sergeant in the Army with the 25th Recon Company during the Korean conflict. “R.B.” was a member of the First Alliance Church on Buffalo Road in Raleigh, where he served through the years as Elder, Trustee, Deacon, and Youth Leader. He lived a selfless life, being a “fixer man” for anyone who needed his help. He never hesitated to come to the rescue of anyone. He was a man’s man, and served God and others with his whole heart. He worked at Brink’s Armored Car Service until retiring in 1989. Left to cherish their memories of Daddy and PaPa are his daughters Priscilla Welbourn and husband Doug, Pamela Hansen and husband Chris; grandchildren Luke Welbourn and wife Stephanie, Landis Trainor and husband Matt, Kyle Hansen, Ryan Welbourn, Chad Hansen and Courtney Hansen. R.B. was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Sydney Welbourn. He is also survived by a sister, Clara Grace Parrish. Please feel free to visit and reminisce with Jackie and family at Bryan Lee Funeral Home on Wake Forest Road on Monday night, December 29 from 5:00-7:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at First Alliance Church on Tuesday, December 30 at 11 AM with a reception following. Burial will be at Montlawn Cemetery at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to both the First Alliance Church of Raleigh and also at the National Parkinson Foundation.
