Robert "Bob" Utley Ashley

RALEIGH – Robert “Bob” Utley Ashley, 88, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born in Franklin County on August 11, 1933, the son of the late Robert W. Ashley and Annie Murray Ashley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Lee Whitley. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Ashley; daughter, Crystal Ashley Buehler and husband, Steven; son, Robbie Ashley and wife, Bonnie; grandchildren, Ashley Buehler and Addison Buehler; and a host of nephews, cousins, and extended family. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Raleigh. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or in lieu, memorial contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to Mount Moriah Baptist Church: 3000 E. Garner Rd., Raleigh, NC 27610.
