Robert “Bobby” David Hamilton passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 8th at the age of 88. Born in 1927, Bobby was raised in and spent his entire life in Kipling, marrying his sweetheart Billie Dean in June 1952. Bobby served in the US Marines and Navy. He was a farmer and an educator, spending 18 years teaching in Harnett County and 21 years teaching in Wake County. He was a lifelong member of Kipling United Methodist Church and founding member of Twin Creek Hunting Club. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Billie Dean Hamilton; daughter, Vicki Betts and husband, Ben; daughter, Debbie Wallace and husband, Budd, both of Fuquay-Varina; grandsons, Chris Betts and wife, Jessica; Matthew Betts and wife, Ameron, both of Fuquay-Varina; Stephen Wallace and wife, Ashley of Willow Spring, and John David Wallace and wife, Taylor of Fuquay-Varina. He has 5 great-grandchildren who always made him smile: Mason Betts, Brantley Wallace, Brighton Wallace, Lane Betts and Avery Grace Wallace. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Shirley Keith, Faye Washington and husband, Pete, and brother-in-law Jimmy Dean, and several nieces and nephews. Bobby was predeceased by his parents Carlie David and Ola Senter Hamilton, and his infant daughter; also sisters, Betsy Bateman and Frances Gardner. Visitation will be held at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier on Sunday, July 10, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Kipling United Methodist Church on Monday at 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery on Olive Branch Road in Kipling. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Kipling United Methodist Church - Olive Branch Cemetery Fund.
