Robert Bobby Earl Oakley

RALEIGH- Robert Bobby Earl Oakley, 77, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and his faithful companion, Benji. He was a loving husband, father, grand pa, uncle, and friend. Bobby was a member of Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church for 55 years. He was a member of James B. Green Masonic Lodge 735 of Raleigh. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Ernest Myatt Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Commons Area of the church. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Bobby is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Sylvia Hendrick Oakley; son, Robbie E. Oakley and wife, Lynn; son-in-law, Robert D. Wilder, Jr.; grandchildren, Steven Wilder and wife, Beth, Candice Wilder and husband, Shaun, Tyler Oakley, Evan Oakley and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Alexandria. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Oakley Morris of Rhode Island and sister-in-law, Rochelle Oakley of Knightdale, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Oakley and Clara Robertson Oakley; his daughter, Bobbie Jean Oakley; siblings, Jasper Oakley, Jr., Thomas B. Oakley and Lillian P. Mitchell and husband, William L. Mitchell.
