Robert Harold Dennis

December 25, 1939 — January 30, 2025

Robert "Bob" Dennis, a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a loving, devoted husband to his wife Sue and cherished her and his grandchildren more than anything. He enjoyed working in the yard, fishing at the family farm, watching westerns, listening and dancing to music with his family, baking his famous banana pudding, and most of all spoiling his two dogs, Molly and Duchess.

He was born in Erwin, North Carolina on December 25th, 1939; where he grew up playing and coaching baseball and football. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad. After graduating from Erwin High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and made it his career for over 20 years. He retired as a Technical Sergeant working on the flight line at various bases around the world. Some of his favorite places he lived included Egypt, Germany, Spain, and Texas. However, his heart was set on North Carolina as his permanent home, where he and Sue built their beautiful life together in the Town of Garner.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Rogers Dennis; step daughter, Tammy Jeffries; step son, Travis Jeffries; granddaughter, Allison Lapsley and her husband, Brandon Chesnutt; grandsons Zack, Dylan, and Stephen Jeffries; sister Nancy Tyndall; Son, Robert "Bob" Dennis II; Daughter, Donna Hogge and her children.

He is preceded in death by his parents Josephine Brock Dennis and Robert Lee Dennis; sons Robert Harold Dennis Jr and Christopher Allen Dennis; brothers, Aaron Dennis and Mitchell Dennis; and sister Helen Hudson.

A private service will be held with the immediate family. Flowers are welcome and may be sent to Bryan-Lee funeral home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, North Carolina 27529.
