Raleigh - Robert Bob Frederick passed away on Tuesday at his residence. He was born in Kenton, Ohio. His parents preceded him in death. His wife, June, after sixty-four years and four days, preceded him in death on August 31, 2009. Surviving are his son, Barry, of Raleigh; granddaughter, Kathryn Davis and her husband, Billy, of Fuquay-Varina, NC; great-grandsons, Chandler, Dustin, and Brayden; and former daughter-in-law, Fay Mitchell. Mr. Frederick served in the 13th Abn. Div. during WWII. He retired on February 29, 1988 after thirty-one years with the Employment Security Commission of NC. He was awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine by then Governor James Martin. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 16, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. Msgr. John Williams, Pastor of St. Josephs, will officiate. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7 PM Friday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604. After the funeral on Saturday, friends and family will gather at the home of Fay Mitchell, 714-D Crown Court, Raleigh, NC 27608. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made either to the Alzheimers Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC 27605-1351 or to St. Josephs Catholic Church, Attn: Maintenance Fund, 2817 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610-2818.
