ANGIER - Robert Joseph “Bobby Joe” Weis, 75, passed away Saturday evening surrounded by his loving family. A native of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Alvin and Sarah Weis. Bobby Joe served in the Army National Guard for 20 years, was a tobacco farmer, and was the owner of Weis’ Ace Hardware. He was also a dedicated member of Angier Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was an employee of Ferrellgas for the past 27 years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23rd, at 2:00 PM at Angier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier.
Bobby is survived by: his wife of 55 years, Virginia McLeod Weis; son, Timothy Joseph Weis and companion Kelly McLeod; daughter, Jennifer Weis Hendges and husband Chris Hendges, all of Angier; grandchildren, Logan Weis Barfield and husband Will, Ashton Weis Hatley and husband Chad, Taylor Hendges Messer and husband Tyson, Madison Hendges Bryant and husband Christopher, Garrett Joseph Weis; great-grandchildren, Joseph “Crew” Hatley, Tinsley Messer, Baby Bryant; sister, Bonnie Young; Nephews, Brian Johnson, Kelvin Johnson, and Matthew Young; Niece, Tabitha Young Deller.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier, and at other times at the home of Bobby and Virginia.
