Robert L. "Bob" Harvin

Robert L. “Bob” Harvin, 76, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. A native of Northhampton County, Bob was born April 23, 1947, to the late Thomas Kirven and Margaret Griffin Harvin. Bob was married to his High School sweetheart, Judy Faye DeBerry, for 55 years. He had many friends from his 41-year career at Dorothea Dix Hospital. Bob was an active member of the Garner Optimist Club, where he held several offices, but preferred to remain helping in the background. He was a member of Aversboro Road Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time fishing and golfing with his many family and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 1PM, at Aversboro Road Baptist Church, 1600 Aversboro Road Garner, NC 27529. The family will receive friends following the service, at the church. Interment will be private.

Bob is survived by his wife, Judy Faye DeBerry Harvin; sisters, Mary Katherine Brewer and husband, MC, and Margaret Cullifer and husband, Glenn; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his stepmother, Tillie Harvin; his brothers, Thomas K. Harvin, Jr. and Ezra Griffin “EG” Harvin; and a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Harvin Grimsley.
