Robert L. Bob Montgomery

Fuquay- Varina - Robert Bob Louis Montgomery, Jr., 57, passed away unexpectedly on August 7, 2013. An avid sports lover and Tarheel fan, Bob graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1978, followed by graduation from Southeastern Seminary in 1982. Bob has served as pastor of New Bethel Baptist Church in Garner, Athens Drive Baptist Church in Raleigh, Chaplain Central Prison and Teaching Pastor at Triangle Community Church in Apex. His servant heart and encouraging words of love touched many peoples lives. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at Triangle Community Church, 4216 Kildaire Farm Road, Apex, NC 27539. Viewing will be held at the church from 3:00-4:00 prior to the service. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Montgomery of Fuquay-Varina; stepmother, Betty Montgomery of Greensboro; sisters, Cam Brooks of Archdale and Suzanne Bigham of Lincolnton; mother-in-law, Ellyn Courts of Chapel Hill; sister-in-law, Kathy Mitchell of Staley, NC; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Louis Montgomery, Sr. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bobs memory to Kairos Prison Ministry, c/o Jim Purvis, 113 B Rufus Lane, Clayton, NC 27527 (all funds received will be designated to Kairos Central Prison in memory of Bob) or Prison Fellowship International, P.O.
