Robert Lee Carlyle

Robert L. Carlyle, 88, of Garner, NC, peacefully passed unexpectedly, March 6, 2023.

A native of Surry County, Robert “Bobby” was born on November 3, 1934, to the late Arnie Hubert and Edna Wright Carlyle. In 1955, Robert met the love of his life, Betty, while she was working at a soda shop. They married May 26, 1956 and went on to have 3 beautiful daughters, Lynn, Cindy and Renee.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hegler Carlyle.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynn (Russ), Cindy (Michael), and Renee (Steve); grandchildren, Wes (Beth), Kevin (Afton), Lauren (Chuck), Keith (Jamie), JoDon, Breanna (Michael), Victoria, Robert (Anna), Melise, Dallas, and Grant; and great grandchildren, Lilly, Carly, Caleb, Elias, Eve’lynn, Levi, Elsie, Lyndsay, Charley Rae, Lenora, Rooney, and Willow; sisters, Janice Wall, Shirley Carlyle, and Glenda Eller; and a brother, Wayne Carlyle.

Friends are welcome to join the family at the graveside service, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 3:00 pm, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1621 NC-55, Fuquay Varina, NC. Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 8, 2023, from 6-8PM, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to, The Capital Church Benevolence Fund.
